Turmeric is a spice.
It is the bright yellow powder that comes from the crushing of the dry stalk of the curcuma longa plant - a tropical perennial shrub that belongs to the ginger family and is found mainly in India and Indonesia.
Usage: The taste of turmeric goes well with pasta or rice, briam or grilled vegetables and potatoes.
Also, burning turmeric removes mosquitoes.
Its use is not recommended for pregnant women.
